About Me
Early Life and Inspirations |
Formal Music Education |
Born in Renton, WA, I have been familiar with Seattle's flexible weather forecasts my entire life. Growing up, I always had a passion for video games, and always dreamed of one day being a part of the creative process behind them. I first picked up an instrument in 5th grade, the trumpet, and stuck with it through my freshman year in college. The first game that drew my attention to the musicality present in video games was Halo. I would more often than not just let the loading screen repeat so I could listen to the Opening Suite over and over. I can confidently say that the original Halo sent me down the path of the composer with the ultimate goal of writing music of my own for video games.

I studied at Washington State University enrolled in their Music Composition program for 3 consecutive semesters, learning music theory, history, orchestration, and composition techniques. In early 2013, I transferred to FullSail University's Music Production program to learn about the technical side of modern music. My goal with the transfer is to be able to implement the knowledge from studying art music composition into modern cinematic music, giving me an edge against both purely classically trained composers and those influenced by newer music styles.
